Jazz band is a great extra-curricular elective where you are able to explore an important American music tradition. You will be exposed to the many styles of jazz influenced music including: the blues, swing, be-bop, Latin-jazz, funk, rock and more! Jazz band is a great way to improve your musicianship skills on your instrument, play different styles of music, and learn about improvisation! ALL BAND INSTRUMENTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN JAZZ BAND! If you play guitar, bass, piano or drum set this is a great opportunity for you to enhance your musicianship on those instruments. Carver Coyote Choir is an after school singing group for Carver students (grades 4 and 5) that love to perform and express themselves! Young musicians: take your singing to the next level, learn to read traditional choral music, develop your voice, make music and play singing games with your friends and sing along with some of your favorite teachers (the VES staff choir). There are no auditions - the choir is open to any 4th or 5th grade students who love to sing! Students will arrive before school and meet in the music room with Mrs. Oyler.
