Code Championship Tournament Series | Virtual Computer Coding CompetitionMiddle School S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)Build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders! Whether this is your first Code Championship event, or if you’ve been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. The code Championship Series is a series of four tournaments in four weeks (it’s ok to miss one or two). These tournaments will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship Website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox, no additional download is required. Learn the basics of coding by creating a Nintendo-themed game with Scratch! Students will use colorful, drag-and-drop blocks to bring their favorite characters to life. E-SportsHigh School S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)Join the Chaska/Chanhassen High School E-Sports Team! Is your student passionate about gaming and ready to take it to the next level? This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the inaugural Chaska/Chanhassen High School Esports Team, competing against other schools across Minnesota through the Minnesota Varsity League (MNVL). Why Join? E-Sports builds teamwork, strategy, leadership, and communication skills — all while competing in a fun and structured environment. Key Details: Available Games: Fortnite, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, League of Legends, Minecraft Bedwars, Marvel Rivals, Chess, Rocket League, and Valorant Commitment: Practices will be flexibly scheduled based on team availability. Game days will be either Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday at 4:30pm or 5:30pm depending on game and are fixed during the 10-week season. Format: Competitions are played virtually from home, so students must have their own gaming PC or console (depending on game). Team Meetings: We’ll meet in person throughout the season to build team chemistry, discuss strategies, and plan for success. Eligibility: Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher to participate in competitions. FIRST Tech ChallengeHigh School S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)FIRST Tech Challenge Teams are full at this time. Returning members register here. There may be additional costs associated with tournaments, accomodations, etc.**Teams are based on parent volunteer and space availability. Programs are held at Chanhassen High School and Chaska High School during the evenings/weekends. Once coaches are established, they will notify those registered of what the schedule will be. Most teams meet 2-3 times per week in the evenings/weekends. What is FIRST Tech Challenge?Teams of students collaborate to build and program a robot that competes on a 12' by 12' field. Each year the challenge is designed to encourage students to think critically and expand their knowledge of the engineering process. FIRST Tech Challenge in MN is part of an international robotics program that includes more than 3,000 teams globally. The registration fee includes 1 Regional Event. Participants will work in teams to bring their vision of their future city to life. They will imagine what it's like to walk down the main street of a city 100 years in the future. From this starting point, they will design a futuristic city with innovative solutions to some of today's most pressing sustainability issues.
