WaitlistAdvanced High School Tennis Drill & Match PlayTennisIn general the person for this class has played on Chanhassen Varsity team or the upper level of the Chanhassen JV team AND has a desire to play on a Varsity team in the future! Since this class is 1 of 2 of our highest level classes we offer for high school players, it is important that the ability level of the player is a good fit for this class. Thus, each player will be placed on the waiting list and confirmation must be received from Jim Mason in order to secure your spot in the class. Please reach out to Jim Mason at jimhmason@comcast.net if your son/daughter did not play on a Varsity team and you feel this is the correct class. Each class will consist of developing all the tennis strokes, conditioning, and singles/doubles strategy through instructor-fed and live-ball drills, in addition to the utilization of the ball machine to further develop the skills which are needed to play on a high school Varsity team. WaitlistBeginner/Intermediate 8-10 year olds with Match PlayTennisAGES 8-10 A FREE T-SHIRT FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS! Monday- Thursday will place an emphasis on building your child's athletic skills while developing agility, balance and coordination. In addition, our well-trained and up-beat staff will have kids with a similar ability level rallying with each other and serving with proper grips and techniques. The Friday match play class will consist of an approximate 45-minute skill building portion and an approximate 45-minutes match play portion. The match play portion will place an emphasis on learning how to play games and sets while displaying good sportsmanship. The match play portion will incorporate a modified court setup developed by the United States Tennis Association for kids within this age group. Please bring your appropriately sized tennis racquet and a water bottle. Beginner/Intermediate High School TennisTennisThis class is perfect for those that played in a middle school program, took our older Youth Match Play Class, or played on a high school JV or B-Team. It is also ideal for the student wanting to go out for high school tennis for the first time! Each class will consist of developing all the tennis strokes, conditioning and singles/doubles strategy through both instructor-fed and live-ball drills and the use of the ball machine. In addition, each class will consist of match play for the last 30 minutes, so kids gain more experience playing matches. Have a busy summer and can't make all 11 classes? The students in this class range from beginners to those that have taken previous classes, to those that have been in the middle school program. The focus will be on serving and being able to rally with proper grips and techniques. Increasing the student's athleticism, agility, balance, and fine motor skills will also be a key focal point. Competitive High School Tennis Drills and Match PlayTennisThis camp is designed for players who have played at the junior varsity or varsity levels. Players will be breaking down the variety of skills needed to compete at the high school level. During camp we will focus on strategy, mental toughness, along with skill development for both singles and doubles. DASH Pickleball CampTennisPickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. DASH Sports Summer Pickleball camps provide participants with an introductory experience to the game in a fun and positive atmosphere. Emphasis is on technique and game play. Key elements of serving, returning, volleys, overheads, and lobbying will be taught and practiced. Camp ends with games on the final day. Participants should wear sunscreen, bring a water bottle, and snack. Campers should also bring a pickleball paddle. If you don't have one, we will provide paddles. USTA Red Ball Tennis CampTennisDASH Sports USTA Red Ball Tennis camps provide participants with introductory experience to the game in a fun and positive atmosphere. This camp is a fun social experience designed to cover basics of tennis fundamentals. With modified equipment and lower compression red balls, this camp will supercharge the success of your players. Emphasis is on technique and game play. Key elements of the serve, forehand groundstroke, backhand groundstroke, forehand volley, backhand volley, and the overhead smash will be taught and practiced. Camp ends with games on the final day. Participants should wear sunscreen and athletic clothing/shoes and bring a tennis racket (optional if you have one), water bottle, and a snack. Youth Match Play Tennis Ages 11-16TennisAges 11 – 15 - This class is perfect for the older kid that prefers to both improve their tennis game and play matches against others of a similar ability level. It is also the perfect class for those wanting to play on a high school tennis team. Each class will consist of improving the tennis strokes in addition to further enhancing their athleticism. The purpose is NOT to distinguish between winning and losing, but to help kids further develop their tennis skills by playing matches against others of a similar ability level. Each class will consist of a warm-up and skill development portion and approximately 30 minutes of playing singles and/or doubles matches. Please bring your appropriate sized tennis racquet and a water bottle. Register for one of the below sessions, either 12, 8, or 4 days.
