Beg/Int 11-15yr. Olds with Match Play
Ages 11 – 15 -The emphasis of this class is to develop an enthusiasm for the game of tennis. The students in this class range from beginner to those that have taken previous classes/have been in the middle school program. This 90-minute class will consist of an approximate 1-hour skill building portion and then a 30-minute match play portion where you will learn how to keep score and play both singles and doubles against players of a similar ability level. Increasing the student's athleticism, agility, balance, and fine motor skills will also be a key focal point.
Please bring your appropriately sized tennis racquet and a water bottle. If necessary, the rainout makeup dates will be on Oct 17, 24, and 31.

Jim is a USPTA certified tennis teaching professional with nearly 30 years of tennis teaching experience to all age groups and ability levels. He played college tennis for 3 years at Mankato State University and was a conference champion his senior year. He also has a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. Jim started his high school coaching journey as the boys head coach for Chaska High School in 2005. When Chanhassen High School opened in 2009 he moved over to take over both the boys and girls tennis program. As Head Coach of both the boys and girls tennis teams at Chanhassen High School, he has overseen a program that has grown each year in the number of participants and wins. The girl’s team won the conference championship from 2012-2015 and the boys were conference champions in 2019. Jim loves not only working with all age groups and giving back to the game of tennis, but building relationships with all those he steps on the court with.
