Basic Home Food Preservation
The growing season is in full swing—perfect timing to learn the essentials of home food preservation! Preserve summer's bounty and enjoy homemade jams, salsas, and fresh produce throughout the winter. Canning offers lower grocery bills, sustainability, and superior nutrition by allowing you to control the ingredients. This class makes it easy, covering tools, food safety, and ingredient selection for successful preservation. You will receive hands-on experience with water bath processing.
*Please bring a hot pad and a muffin tin with you to class.

Heather has many years of experience teaching and tutoring popular cooking and gardening classes to individuals of all ages. She has a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education. When not teaching, Heather enjoys spending time with her family or in her own kitchen. Her passions include her family (husband and 3 children), serving, living simply and fully in the moment, and eating tasty yet healthy foods. In her limited free time, she is found watching soccer games, being an uber mom, gardening, biking, camping or trying to finish a good book.
