Summer Marching Band
Learn the basics of street marching, play some fun music, and perform in three parades. Students should have at least one year of experience playing a band instrument.
Performances:
Saturday, July 4 Chanhassen Independence Day Parade
Weekend of July 24-26 Chaska River City Days
Monday, July 13(Tentative) Valleyfair
Students will need to purchase a shirt for $17 (if they don't already have one) and a lyre to hold their music (costs vary between $5-$13).
Matthew Potter

Matt Potter teaches 6th-8th grade band with District 112 at Chaska Middle School East. Matt has his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music education from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Matt’s primary instruments are the saxophone and the piano, but Matt teaches lessons for all woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. In addition to teaching, Matt still frequently performs with two rock bands and at a church. Matt believes middle school music students should have the opportunities to perform, create and listen to many styles of music.
